Please describe the project specifications:

The client requested awnings to be wrapped around the entire building consisting of three floors, each floor being 120 feet wide . The idea was to prevent the sun from coming into the building to reduce the heat, and consequently acquire tenants for the building. Additionally , the turquoise colour was used specifically to enhance the appeal of the building and to lure clients into the Plaza.

What is unique or complex about the project?

We advertise to all the Islands in the Caribbean. We were contacted about this job and we knew we were able to construct the awnings.

The uniqueness about this job, is the fact that we have to travel on LIAT airlines to the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, take measurements which had to be specific and detailed including the pie at each corner and on each floor.

Having shipped the awnings to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, our crew of 4 technicians flew over to St. Vincent for a period of two weeks to install. At this point we covered the frames by using awning rail to the back and tie bard and rivets to other areas of the awning.

Installation was difficult as we had to use scaffolding in order to install at the height of the building. Other concerns were the safety of our technicians during working hours, with traffic and pedestrians within the vicinity of our work.

Having completed, completed the job our technicians flew back home via Liat Airlines.
